Amir Razavi ChatGPT Boy Meets Girl
Amir R. came into the Collab wanting to produce full sketches for social media using a small film crew. He pitched several ideas including a sketch about Salesman who tries to build rapport without knowing anything about his customers. “Hey my man, I like that t-shirt. That’s medium right? I wear a medium too! Hey man, let me chat with you for a minute.” He also pitched a sketch about a nervous guy who uses ChatGPT to help him talk to a girl on their first date. The Chat GPT idea sparked a lot of great feedback from the class. Amir developed the sketch in the workshop and enlisted the help of a director (Simeon Williams), crew (Ian Mundie, David Willet) and actors outside of the class. (Sam Paige, John Broyles) Included here are a couple of moments from the short which Amir is now passing along to festivals. Congrats Amir!

Aaron Tietz - Dating Profile
In the first Comedy Content Collab completed last month, Aaron T. wanted to create comedic content for his YouTube page. He pitched two ideas during the Pitch Session - A Live Telethon benefitting the environment, where the teleprompter malfunctions and the Host is forced to improvise with disastrous results, and a scene of himself setting up a dating profile while his alter ego continually plants seeds of doubt on every decision he makes. With feedback from myself and the class every step of the way, Aaron completed a First Draft, a Revised Draft, a Rough Cut and Final Cut which we screened in class. You can check out the full scene on YouTube page at Aaron and friends!

Andrea Behm - Nurse Rose "Bypass"
When Andrea B. signed up for the Comedy Content Collab, she said she was just looking to “be myself and grow and have fun.” She pitched several ideas and expressed an interest in creating short character monologues inside the workshop. Andrea developed a character she called Rose whose job as a nurse in a coma ward clashed with her cheery upbeat persona. We loved her First Draft and encouraged her to explore putting “Rose” in other occupations where her sunny disposition stood in contrast to the awful news she was delivering. Using a green screen effect for the first time, Andrea produced three shorts with Rose, including one where Rose is a waitress informing her customers to check their salads for furry caterpillars. “They kinda look like a chimp’s finger”. You can check out more of Andrea’s work at “andreabehm” on Instagram.

Jim Titus - Insurance Commercial
Jim T. came to the workshop hoping to “generate some sketch ideas that are a bit easier to produce with limited budgets and time.” He developed a commercial parody that used stock footage, voice over and royalty free music - all easily accessible assets that made production less time consuming without compromising the concept or the comedy. In fact, production was so manageable, he developed a second idea using the same approach. Funny sketches, simply made! #jimtitus
