JOHN CRANE’S SKETCH W.R.A.P. COMEDY WORKSHOP 2020

 

General Information

 

Thanks so much for your interest in the class! Please read ALL the information below!

  • 8 Classes - Saturdays, 2PM to 5PM, beginning FEBRUARY 22, 2020 and 3PM to 6PM beginning March 28, 2020.

  • Fee $375.00**

  • Location(s) - The course will take place at two different locations. 

  • The writing portion of the session is located at The Lighthaus - 11331 Ventura Blvd #2B Studio City, CA 91604.

  • The performance portion is located at the M.A.D. Acting Studio 4741 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Valley Village, CA 91607.

  • Workshop performance will include at least one (1) sketch written by each student in class.

  • Workshop performance is defined as an informal performance of material with minimalist props, set pieces and costuming.

  • Invited guests may attend the performance free of charge. Seating is limited and each student will have a limited number of “passes” for the workshop performance.

Requirements

 

  • Sketch W.R.A.P. is open to students of all skill levels, however, students should have a basic understanding of the creative process and be open to writing sketches, memorizing scenes and performing with their fellow classmates. 

  • Since we will be doing a lot of writing, you should have a reliable level of confidence and competence writing scripts in a readable format.  

  • Students are expected to perform not only in their own sketches, but in additional sketches written by their fellow classmates. Casting will be at the teacher’s discretion.

  • IMPORTANT: Classes 7 and 8  are MANDATORY given those are rehearsal and performance dates. 

  • Students MUST ATTEND at least four (4) classes PRIOR to the rehearsal and performance date in order to perform in the workshop performance.  Exceptions made at teacher's discretion.

Terms & Conditions

 

  • **SPACES ARE LIMITED. A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $100 is required to reserve a spot. Balance is due by the first class. If you have any issue with payment terms, please email me to discuss.

  • ** Dropping a Class - Because this class is a writing and performance workshop, it is important that students can rely on the participation of their fellow students to perform in their sketches. Please consider your commitment carefully before signing up. That said, I understand that life happens and certain events are beyond your control. If you need to drop before the class begins, you will receive a refund of $275, or if you have not paid the balance, you will not be charged. If you drop after the first class, you will receive a refund of $225.00. If you drop after the second class you will receive a refund of $150.00. There will be no refunds for students who drop after the third class.
